Very good video on MIT electrolysis material, at the end, he does tell you the elements that they use, there's also an element that will allow self repair of your crystals. These are common elements that you can find everywhere. We are doing sonofusion here where we create fog and HHO for ICE fuel .

If you are want just straight DC, then  electrolysis is the way to go. Your crystals will work there also. What is going into the water through electrodes?. Waves. What is the plant absorbing through it' leaves?. Waves,  BUT, you can harvest  a wider array of the spectrum than what a plant can.

If you are not opposed, you might try adding a drop or two of water soluable detergent into your soup to increase the water/hydrogen output.

After thinking about this project this weekend and doing some research,  this is a simplified explanation of what I think is going on.  If I am correct, this will greatly simplify this project for me towards replication.  Please do not read the attachment if you have already formed your own ideas as I do not wish to influence your thoughts.

b_rads,  thanks for your explanation on this.  Was that video ( http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1hPn5y2we8M ) you put in your write up one that you did or someone else?  I'm at a loss to understand where the hydrogen was coming from in that video as all I saw was a pump and the ultrasonic.  Was this the result of having the ultrasonic running at around 43 Khz?

No I did not post that video, it was by someone else.  I realize now that I did not do a good job of relating why I put this link in.  The idea relating to this video was to evacuate the chamber quickly, else the hydrogen will reunite with the oxygen reforming water and all of the work in separating would be lost.  In the video he is using gasoline, no hydrogen involved.  He mentioned using a fogger, so I would think he was running much higher than 43Khz.
