Newby needs help with hairpin type circuit

I hooked a 12v battery to a 400watt inverter. then with an appliance cord hooked 2 17mfd capacitors one to each leg of the cord basicly like the tesla hairpin circuit so as to pass voltage only and no amps. This setup works and will run any and all loads as any normal inverter will. Everything throughout the entire circuit runs cool with no heat from the inverter. Placing the back of my hand close to the wires or battery, there is a slight cool breeze felt around the entire circuit. ( within 1/4 from wires or components). The problem I m having is the loads run hotter than normal. All else is unusually cool. When the loads are connected to the mains they run their normal temperatures. The capacitors are large AC ones from an air conditioning unit. Are they the wrong value and if so what value do they need to be? Any suggestions and help will be appreciated. My electronics knowledge is limited. Thanks
