Bio-fuels, wind and solar are all a smoke screen, as is hydrogen.

Why do you say wind and solar are all a smoke screen? If you live rurally then you should be able to go off-grid with a combination of wind+solar+backup gas (or diesel) generator. Though it will take much higher electricity prices, before it makes economic sense to do so.

Solar and wind unless centralized are of little use except to a very small percentage of users. Wind depends on wind and studies around the world have found prime locations for major systems, yet only a very small population can put up systems that can take advantage of  what wind may be available to them. In areas where zoning, code or other restrictions are not enforce, then wind is a good option. Again only for a very small fraction of a percentage. Solar is again not an option for the vast majority of individuals. Zoning, code, deed restrictions to name a few are in force in major metro areas and it is just not allowed. Solar is being restricted do to its high price, where payback periods of 15+ years are considered this is a total joke (My Feeling). Not to mention that with a worldwide average of under 800 Watts per square meter, you better have some type of backup system. I don't discount the technologies, yet I don't feel they are what is needed. What about the person living in an apt. complex, is he/she just out of luck?

I hope this clears up what I implied by a smoke screen. Its being built up as something great, yet its smoke for the majority of people.

At first the on-grid price-level :
In Germany the e-KWH-average 20 Eurocents
in Portugal                               8 Eurocents .

The common consumer has his daily electricity-use behaviour,
with his 24-hour average and KWH-peak !
Dependant also 1/2/3/4-and more persons-household.

We have as periodic sources:sun-shine and as reaction also wind !
Somebody has also the possibility to use Bio-mass and/
or water-stream ! 

Periodic means that we have to use a back-up/store/deposit
concept for the time when no free energy is available !

This system could be available for 10% of the western-economy-
habitants but it would evolute:Sezession !

Or we will reach the OU-system,that deliver us (apparature-max
oriented )the needed power !

The publicated cheapest -permanent work-device (per KWH) is the
"Perendev-motor/generator"-concept,but the minimum investment is :10.000$(20KWH) !
Only solution:the consumer build a KW-share-community !
20KWH X 8766 H=175.320KWH per annum/ 4000KWH average 4P-
household:40 shareholder per e-plant and 250$/per investor !
But this is only a  financial/mathematical calculation because
40 4P-households XKWH-peak : versus 20KWH motor/generator-max !!!
