Graphene battery

Ive heard a lot about graphene lately. I've heard about the graphene being used to make super capacitors as well as batteries and numerous other applications. My main interest with graphene are the use in super capacitors and batteries.

So I have a few questions. I've heard graphene super capacitors will replace batteries but capacitors, even super capacitors, don't hold their charge long enough to be used as a battery and if you can build a capacitor that holds its charge long enough wouldnt it be considered a battery and not a capacitor?

Another question is now that graphene is available at a low enough cost to experiment with why haven't I seen any DIY'ers or home experimenters playing with graphene more? Maybe I've missed a lot of threads on here about this topic but even on other sites its rare to see.

I've seen numerous reports from universities that have been able to use graphene in lithium batteries to increase capacity 10x so why has no one tried this on their own?

Now don't get me wrong, I understand my question is why is no one else doing it but a better question is why am I not doing it. I've had to reach myself almost everything I know but there's still a lot I don't know. I've been desperately trying to figure out on my own how I can use these new advances in nanotech to my advantage such as increased battery storage for off grid energy etc.

So to the point of this post, does anyone here have any helpful information on what would be required to make a graphene battery and would anyone like to work with me or help me? My goal is to build a high capacity battery using graphene but ultimately its to open source plans for building one. I do not like the idea that we have to rely in a corporation to provide us with technology we need to evolve and expand beyond our current reach. We should all have access to and be capable of building these things on our own.

Isn't that true freedom? True self sufficiency? We all want to be more self sufficient but the focus is more on being able to purchase these products from someone else and not being able to make them on our own.
