I suppose I'm a bit odd with morals / ethics that make me a poor business man.  I prefer to stay in my hole and figure things out;  I don't care much for business, money  and that whole bit.  I've been criticized by researcher friends or "funding happy" bosses, since most of the time I'd just as soon give something away.  I know this makes me very odd in that fact.  I could not suggest that, what I would do, as being "wise";  since popular opinion may disagree. 

For me, I enjoy figuring something out and my "reward" then;  is figuring whatever out.  After that, I could care less.  (odd I know)  I suppose I tend to relate this as being similar to the Buddhist concept of impermanence;  being about the journey.  Also, I have certain odd ethics and morals for the time.  My odd perception then, is if I try to get money for something;  that's Greed.  If I want everyone to know that I made something; that's Vanity.  If I want to be patted on the back and congratulated;  then that's Vaniglory.  I don't tend to draw from single sources;  but that's half of a 7 set list there.  This is how my conscious gets in the way, when it comes to money or business. 
  On the positive side or Virtues;  You have shown good diligence and patience with this Hypothetical.  My odd thinking again, would look at Charity as an opposition to greed and Humility as opposed to Vanity;  and thus why I end up not seeing credit or money as important to me. 

I think for monetary options, Protech gave a good plan B and C.  I suppose D, could also include writing a business plan and approaching investors.  If you have concerns over IP or Technical then, just have said investors sign an NDA.  This way you could be involved if you needed too. 

....So many ideas made and lost over the years for one reason or another.  Some covered up, destroyed, taken down, bought up to shelf, etc.  Some lost to time, lack of understanding, lack of a way to profit, etc. Others may not get off the ground, or get buried in a sea of information, etc.  All of these great things lost to time and if it wasn't for the variable of money in the equation;  how many would we already be living with and enjoying?

I suppose my thoughts may count for 1/2 a cent, since they prolly aren't the most popular.  At least I could offer a Plan D.

Just hypothetically: let's say that I was lucky enough to discover something of Bessler's wheel that others missed or didn't really understand if they didn't miss it . Let's say that I possess the great secret . Let's say that I don't have the money and/or craftsmanship to actually produce a prototype . Let's say that out of frustration I publish it with an explanation of how it supposed to work and the principle it is based on . How would I benefit from this kind of scenario ? If someone can , please convince me that this is a wise path to travel . What will be my reward for the time and money I have spent on this if I give it away ?

@Peanutbutter29, there's nothing odd about that. Money has blinded people and made them sick. If we lived in an highly abundant technological world money would go down in history as one of the most corrupted inventions of mankind. It has a good role on the micro scale but once you hit the 5 figures and higher all hell breaks loose.

I share many of your views and aspects, I never accept 'funding' from someone or even think for a second about any monetary gain. Play around, don't quit your day job, have fun and openly share your findings. That's what open source people do, that's my 'business plan'. 100 years of absolute failure in trying to 'commercialize' these type of machines and people still think they can beat the odds?

Think about getting rich, and you're doomed. Think about fame, and you're doomed. Think about THE WORLD, and you're doomed. You're not the messiah who will save the world, "...the world is fine, we the people on it though are f*cked". So people in this field should get off their high horses this forum is about open source it even says so in the title if you want to start a business or need a business plan this isn't the place.

This is my day job .  I don't listen to anyone who speaks in such a way as to try and teach me something by shoving it down my throat . This is not about a business plan... I was considering posting something effectual and was hoping that someone could convince me that I would somehow benefit from it . B.T.W. point me to the posts you have made that mark significant contributions to the real needs of human beings if you will ... not not just advice but " PRODUCT " .  If you show me one thing that you have done to actually save me some money or put food in my mouth or gas in my car I will listen to you . Until you do that we are not even on the same subject .
