Ok this is something I have wanted to know for some time but don’t know how to work it out myself.
I would like to know how big a simple two plate parallel disc capacitor would need to be to resonate at the fundamental frequency of the Schumann resonances of the Earth (which is 7.86Hz).

I know the capacitor would be big but how big are we talking, a meter diameter, the size of a car, the size of a buss, the size of the moon. Practicality is not what I’m interested in at the moment.

Lets fix some parameters for argument sake: The dielectric would be made from 5mm thick Acetal plastic sheet mainly because it has a high breakdown potential and it is relatively cheap. The disc plates of the capacitor would be made of 1mm thick aluminum sheet for similar reason.

Would be very grateful if somebody here could tell me how to do this, I would really love to know the answer!

BTW first post on here but long time viewer :)
