  I viewed the video, but I see no load, such as bulbs etz..., or understand what is the output, or what is being done in tuning. If you can indicate at what point there is something shown concerning the output without an external input, I'll look at that again.
   No ferrite needed?  Not just the "no yoke", but no ferrite, as well.    They do have some impressively huge toroids though. So, does that mean that they don't need or use them (these toroid cores) to observe the effect?

The miliampermeter was plugged in as load there so basically the output coil was shorted after diodes.

P.S> Personally I would like to make modified SSTC circuit to drive primary but unemployment and finances do not let me to do at the moment.

  Ok, I'll look at the new Russian link later today.
  Is it the drive circuit (SSTC?) what you are talking about?
   I am planing on using a driver from a 65 watt, 110v CFL light, to help drive my circuit. My main concern now is the wiring order on the air core, windings count, gauge, etz...
   Another question in my mind is, if the inverter (12v Dc to 220v Ac) used by akula, and the 12v battery, can be substituted (for now), with the 110v grid source, plus the drive circuit, along with something similar like the mosfet or transistor switching circuits that we see in the previous picture. Or not.
If not clear,  then,  can the 12v inverter/battery system be replaced with the regular 110v grid source, just to get this working, along with the higher voltage driver.
What do you think? 
I don't have an inverter, but, I use the Lasersaber 3.0 circuit, as an inverter to raise the voltage to over 1000 plus, AC volts.

   Is this (below) what you are mentioning as the air coil inside a bigger air coil?
   What is the value of C1 and C2, (more or less), that are used to tune to the right frequency?

Here is how it looks in real. Also connection between L3 and L4 is like in Don Smith secondary just asymetrical number of windings in this case. Also L4 is on quarter wave resonance of L3.
