I want to understand how it Works

Is it this Ringing effect  what is needed for a good working device ...

And  the 3th Coil ( not in the video ) : the modulation Coil    is  that  for  50 Hz  ?

Is it so that  the kicking coil with the grenade Coil  together act as an amplifier?
And that the signal, magnetic field coming from the 3rd Coil will be amplified ?

In the video there is only a square wave from the function generator but when we have a stronger inductive kick  is that  what  makes the amplification possible ?

I just want to understand how it works  ..  so   main question  is  is the 50Hz  or sometimes more Hz Modulation  Coil being amplified by the Grenade ( partnered output ) Coil  via the Kicking Coil.

Question 2 :   is the signal on the scope  the  signal  we are looking for   .  I know  on the video ( Grenade Coil Pulsing, Variable Cap )
it is just mili Volts  but if instead of function Generator , if we use powerful inductive kick .. are we on the right track than ?

If I understand it better  I will be able to  maybe replicate a working device
