i found a patent from china ,which is very similar to don smith ,tesla style. Brief setup 220volt to high voltage using tesla coil and   
use capacitive divider connected to coupling coil to take output (where the resonance freq of tesla coil = to capacitive divider)

may be the capacitor don smith used is working as capacitive divider.


there are 4 figs ,in the patent , is there any site to search chinese patent and get the diagram. Please some get us the diagram

Yes a good find, I found one in English I sent the link to Nick as he kept waffling about a self-starter device, ask him to post it to you it showed everything and told you how it works to, I don't have the link now my machine doesn't keep links if i just turn it off and it did just that after i sent it!

Good Day All

Just wanted to report an interesting update which *might* answer some questions that were raised about a year ago here.

I have converted my SSTC (SolidStateTeslaCoil) to run off of solar.  Well, I use an inverter and 12V deep cycle battery for the power supplies.

In these videos I was using the Public Grid as my power supply.............. and a few people rightly asked the question:

Will the light bulb light-up if you run the SSTC from an ISOLATED power supply?

MagPwr at the same time presented a video where he lit-up an LED thru inductive coupling using a small Ferrite toroid.

Tonight I finally got around to running the SSTC from my Solar battery powered ISOLATED inverter.

For who will ask, my entire house runs ONLY on PhotoVoltaics (solarpanels).  I do NOT have a Grid connection at the house.

The inverter in question is COMPLETELY isolated from Ground............. meaning the inverter does *NOT* use a ground connection anywhere in it's circuit.  No ground  loops here

So, I wound up a small HF choke toroid, (the type for common mode chokes, etc.) and placed 5 parallel one watt *straw hat* White LEDs wired in series through a 220ohm resistor and wrapped only 1 turn of 22awg wire around the toroid.

Have attached photos of the test apparatus.

The toroid / LED / resistor combo was placed on the *far* end of the 10awg. GROUND cable (ground cable put through the toroid), which is about 5 meters distance from the SSTC when operating.

The LEDS light up super bright............  whenever the SSTC is discharging the LEDs are on.

I do realize the LED can be made to light up by very little current, and soon I will find a small incandescent AC bulb, like I used in last years videos to try the test again with Solar power supply.

The *Grounding* of the base end of the Tesla Coil forces the 1/2 wave coil into 1/4 wave operation yielding a voltage node & current antinode at the grounded base connection. 

This likewise renders a Voltage antinode & Current node at the *far* end of the the 1/4 wave resonator (usually the end with the aluminum toroid).

Considering that the Voltage antinode is at *ground potential* it should have ZERO volts...........
but this is obviously NOT the case.

The *Ground Cable* is demonstrating *real power* (some part of it must have voltage & current in phase) as it can light-up 100watt incandescent light bulbs.

It is late tonight and I did not take a video.  I will make a video of this with the Toroid placed over the Iron bar used as the ground rod and post it soon.  Also I want to find another Incandescent Light Bulb and redo the Ground Current video with the isolated power supply for the SSTC. Should prove interesting.

The Yokes are the culprit as resonance makes the Russian ferrite to generate power from a nuclear event..
I am making a prediction that the iron ferrite cores from the Russian TV "Ruby 714" which was 120 pounds in weight was a beast ! in more than one way !!
