Is it he is full of  scam  and trying to extract money from less fortunate in brain power but quite well with money ?
Verpies  convince me and you  will be beneficiary along with  rest of you charge free.

I cannot convince you because I am not convinced myself.  So at this time I am not a proponent of melting silver and doing expensive experiments.  I only advise gathering information at this stage.
I will be a believer if I see that reaction chamber heated to incandescence.  So far I have not.

I think that they are not cheating on the spectrum of that bright light, but they might be wrong about its intensity.  It might be just a glorified underunity silver electric welding arc.
Also, I see an engineering error in the practical design, namely: any water in that chamber at 3000ºK will become thermolized to oxygen and that will react with the graphite...effectively burning it up.

Anyway, they are located close to you, so if you can present yourself as a company man with big bucks, then perhaps you could drive there with Chet and verify the intensity of that light with some kind of black bottle of water and a thermometer.

   This will be my third try at getting the TL494 circuit board to work for me. Maybe 3 is my lucky number.
    Below is the PinoyTech TL494 design, which I had posted previously. At least the TL494 part of the driver circuit. It's different than my TopRuslan 7 design.
   You'll notice the IC socket has been installed for the TL chip.The original chip is still there, next to it, but disconnected from the rest of the circuit.
   I'll install a new TL chip on the socket when I finish soldering the remaining connections. I may pull out the old TL chip, or I may just leave it there.
    Hopefully, I'll have it running tomorrow.

Good that you have the socket now.

But... two things, nit picking...

First, I would have expected you to remove the chip and install the socket where the chip was, so as to use the same connections on the backside  of the board.

Second... you have the socket in "backwards" although this doesn't really matter as long as you get the chip in "forwards". Note the "u" indicator on the chip, which indicates the "left end" of the chip and pin 1 the bottom left pin. Note the "u" or notch on the end of the socket..... Normally we set things up so these match, in case someone else comes along, or even yourself later, and replaces the chip, so that the orientation is correct.
Doesn't "really" matter as long as you get the wiring correct and the chip in correctly for the wiring.


And a question: What are the values of the trimpots you are using?  Just asking, for my own information.

And another I just noticed: Are the gate protection zeners on the left side wired the same as the ones on the right side?
