Hi all,

While doing MEG experiments in parallel I found something interesting on driver part. If you are using Ruslan katcher I think same thing may apply as well.
Basically when you have negative offset voltage in transistor base on moment of switching off the transistor seem to work much better.
Can soemone try break connection between katcher transistor emitter and minus and put ultrafast shotky diode in series there? This should improve your Tesla coil operation a lot.

And basicaly it is what Tesla coil functionality is based at...

Yes the EHT is much more from switching ! used a  0.2v drop device SB560 you can see the spark in the pic the set up draws 2amp at 12 volts from reg V and limited Amps (Fets get hot on small heat sink), but might need more tripler stages for volts and impedance but needs to be pulse.

Caps are Pulse Z5U 0.001 6KV
Diodes are BY399 fast recovery 2x1600v 3Amp per stick  x 2
Rectifier is 1N5408 1000v 3a

Note scope display is erratic due to spark energy pulse but similar to original but not much use in this set up as is!

   Are you suggesting that a fast diode be placed between the transistor emitter and the input source negative rail?
   What is this supposed to do?  As I can't understand the video that you posted.

I want to show you some things that I have helped
I've found several spots where you can hear the sound of frying chicken
with different duty cycle and delay between both gates of mosfet.
I'm using the snuber because I see that it's better.
there are many sounds, but only the frying chicken is the one that works
sometimes it is mixed with a tone, but you have to know that this sound is different from the others
I'm using a piece of aluminum tube in the center of the grenade
As shown in the photo, in a video I can see that GEO uses this.

this increases the sound of frying chicken, and apparently has better performance with the kacher, it also heats up a bit, and makes the resonance more acute
