Maybe not. As I think Alien has mentioned a few times, its necessary to use a capacitive discharge approach for the generation of sharp unipolar pulses. IMO the simple push-pull or sine-wave oscillator circuits are the most likely reason that success has not been forthcoming, assuming of course a self-running device of this type is feasible.

If i do understand what your suggesting is that the sinewave flowing trough the grenade is likely a obstruction for the discharge?

Unless the position of the burst from the capacitive discharge is at a moment without effect.
What would mean at zerocrossing point of the current... so the magnetic field is zero.

What also means that charging the grenade without inductor running schould be possible.
This is not yet the case.
