verpies you're right, the thyristor is only used as a switching element for starting DSRDs. The speed of such a scheme is much lower than the transistor. Look at the picture, as thyristors are used in such schemes.

This is why I am building to what I think is Dally's schematic of the device in the demo video. Changing circuit elements is clearly a not a sensible approach to replication. How does the pulse generator affect the green transformer is a good question and given that we have not had a spec on the transformer, this cannot be answered. Another good question IMO, is why has the spec not been released by Dally, for he must know something about its characteristics. Until all build information is forthcoming to make a replication possible, then people will continue to cast their opinions as to whether the device is fake or genuine. Intuition tells me its a fake but I am prepared and want to prove that the device is genuine.

With regards to the nano pulser element of the circuit, is there something special about the KD203 diode (700V / 10A), which precludes substitution?
