   The video that I posted was meant to show only the first diagram, the one that has the SR 193 on the upper right hand corner on it. The rest of the video has nothing to do with SR himself, only someones opinion of his device.

This is mine video.  Then I make this video, I belive, that this SR schematic, but now think, that it probarly not SR. Other image is mine opinion, but now I maybe diferent think.

Dear magpwr.

Today I finally got round to testing your thoughts regarding the heating effect of the Akula drive coil. With 1 micro farad series cap, not a very good effect. But with 2 micro farad series cap I could heat up a 1" (25mm) dia steel bar to the point of pain!! In just over a minute. Current draw was around 5.5 A at 90 Vdc.

So feeling confident I upped the ante and tried a 5 micro farad series cap. Even higher current drawn at 7.6 A and then disaster!! Another £25.00 pair of IGBT's are heading for Silicon Heaven!!

So it's all stop for now. But I have managed to source some slightly lower rated transistors at £5.50 a pair.

On the upside I now know that the driver is capable of the same effect as was seen on the video, perhaps better? The steel rod was at least twice the density of that spanner!! So I am assuming that I need to set the choke's resonant frequency to that of the drive frequency and just hope there is no more dissapiontment

  What I do to avoid adding to the pile of dead transistors that I've managed to fry, is to keep my finger on them when they are working, and if I can't hold on to them, then they are getting too hot, and I turn them off, to cool for a while. This will work, and avoid some further costs. You can also try it with some cheaper mosfets, just to see if they will work.
  Good to hear that you are getting some similar results, on the induction oscillator.

Because I burned many IGBT I will now make this inverter with build in over current and temperature protection from this page http://uzzors2k.4hv.org/index.php?page=multiinverter

Without using gate drive transformer and putting two IGBT directly behind  UC3710T  or TC4422A mosfet igbt driver can be easy modified to push pull operation for akula type device.
