 kolbacict I's a one off  your asking about, have you tried to find it's resonant frequency ?
you need a scope and a signal generator for that, and is it your idea of a yoke ? 

They usuly have a GAP FOR SINGLE ENDED USE. AM modulation amplitude modulation
are you building a transmitter ? because thats all the device design is capable of!

All lets stop all this horsing around with simple AM modulation
Tesla was into rotating Londetudinal generating devices, look it up
on the internet sure you can generate 180 deg phase differance with a
push pull but thats not it.

However you can use a couple of JK or D types and a clock inversion
to generate 90 deg phase shift but fuill rotating wave needs a lot mor maths to acumplish
