Hi all,

I am following this with great interest.
I am not clear about the working priciple of this latest setup (kacher combo).
If possible can someone enlighten or correct me.

One part of the TL494 output (~27KHz) is fet into the 7400/7414 combination to produce a nano/spike like pulse of 27KHz, right?

What is done with this pulse?
Is it pulsing on/off the kacher?
If so, is/should be the output of the kacher then a 27Khz/3Kv pulse "filled" with the kacher frequency (of say 0.7 to 1.8Mhz)?

however, it stops at the base of the (not drawn) transistor driving the kacher.


So still my questions:

What is done with this pulse?

And why this 7400/7414 circuit which is obviously used to drive the kacher?
I can drive my kacher with 1 transistor and a 2.2KOhm resistor!
