Nick if you spoke about this pic that Mag attached, yes it looks like it has 12+12 and heavier gauge wire than the grenade.

Good news! Go for a much bigger battery, say 20A/hr or bigger. When you drill holes in the heat sink, make sure you lightly countersink the holes, especially on the surface so that the mosfets lay completely flat on the heat sinks.

I agree, it would be most helpful to have a clear pictorial winding instruction showing directions of wind from a fixed reference point at the start of winding at thin end of the grenade.
