  Verpies:
  The analogy you gave is valid. However, just like throwing a log into a river, the log will be seen moving down river.  But, not due to it's own power. As it is  subject to the "field" that it's in. Which in this case would be the river, and associated fields that the river flows through and in.
   All matter is subject to and made by these unseen fields, without which there would no physical matter (to burn, like we are doing now).
  The planet is surrounded by multiple fields. And it is the tapping of these invisible vortexial fields that will allow for the self running of devices.
  What you call "nothing", Verpies, contains, everything that we can see, and even all that we can't see. 
  To create food out of thin air, would be one possibility...   
 
   Tapping iron, copper, carbon, or thorium, is another matter.  I am referring to vortexial fields, and devices that work with them to extract  energy.
   At this time, I'm NOT talking about the extraction, nor the manufacture of energy from matter, nor just what matter is, or composed of.
But, rather what ambient energy is all about, and what it is composed of, and just how to tap into that source of power, for our own benefit.
