From what you descrbed in your earlier post, I suggest you use a higher power rated TVS and then use a resistor if necessary. I use 1500W rated diodes for this type of application.

  Ok, so the clamp windings cuts out the HV spikes.  "That's all it does" ?
  Further proof will what it can actually do to the input/output voltages, to reduce the input drawn, by returning some power to the PS. And also, to eliminate over heating of components, as you previously mentioned. That was also supposed to be it's purpose.  Or not? Maybe I misunderstood?
All the while running a full load, to at least what PS wattage (240w-360w)can provide, and also cordinating the HV circuit to be in sync with the induction circuit,  to see or observe IF there is any extra gain at the bulbs. 
That would be the proof, that I'm looking for.


Once Itsu adds the needed 28 turns coil to the 168turns grenade coil, and tuning caps for that LC circuit, we'll see what happens then.

Simply the current carrying capacity of the wire is determined by the average current - not by the momentary pulse current. 
So if you have 20A flowing for 1% of the time, then this is equivalent to 200mA of current flowing all the time, ....as far as wire heating is concerned.

About additional winding on yoke in parallel to primary - connecting just capacitor to it also will dampen BEMF. And if in resonance it will help push-pull to drive Yoke.
