boonk all related contributions helps. This is the basic layout of the device but the trick lays in the tuning: the tesla coil needs to be precisely tuned to resonate at the frequency where the grenade has its highest impedance.

This is for people who already have a test setup but struggles:

For instance, in one of Ruslans videos you see his tesla coil ring at 1.5MHz. I followed his design closely on winding the grenade but when I tested my grande I found that the frequency of high impedance was around 1.39MHz - this is close to 1.5MHz but the difference is enough miss the full effect.

To find the high impedance frequency point of YOUR grenade specifically: use a CT (current transformer) or a 1ohm resistor in series with the grenade such that you may monitor the current flow in the grenade at different frequencies. Now sweep your function gen unit you find the freq where the least / almost no current is flowing. At this freq the grenade has a high impedance, aka high resistance value and will be able to absorb high voltage without resisting it.

Now that you know the freq your grenade needs, tune the tesla coil by changing the "top load", in this case it is the big coiled antenna wire: if you make it a bit shorter the resonating freq will increase and visa versa. You can also connect a plate to ground and move it closer to the antenna to decrease the resonant frequency - some videos shows this methode when the person brings his hand closer to the antenna.

I do not recommend using a ferite inside the grenade because this can change the function of the grenade in its totality. The genade is specifically designed the way it is with good reason so dont mess with it to much, try to follow the design as close as possible.
