What we have now is basically the Heritage Foundation blue print.  If this doesn't work, then probably we need to go to single payer like the rest of the industrialized world.  Then doctors will get paid to actually care for people, and GPs won't be driven out of business.

Well our Queensland government has offered the public health system "doctors" contracts to sign rather than salaries ect. to try to get control of them, but they are threatening to all resign come June 1st. More or less the doctors think they call the shots, but the waiting lists all blew out when the federal government pushed for people to get private cover, it drains the system because private cover payers get tax cuts and all the good doctors. Basically we have a two tier system and it sucks for everyone the private payers costs are skyrocketing and the only ones to benefit are the doctors. Call me whatever but I believe in Universal health care for all. And if the public health system doctors will not sign the contracts I say let them quit, and black ban them from Australian doctoring for life, if they want to quit then they can f off or work in another job, they've had it too good for too long they do f all.

If all the money was put into a Universal system then we could all have good health care and better emergency care for all. Off course anyone who wants a private doctor can do it but with no help from the taxpayers. All insurance is a scam for some of the payers, otherwise it would not work.

We have taxpayer subsidized child care and many other such things which is ridiculous, why should a man without children or a family that looks after their own kids have to pay for other people kids to be looked after ? Makes no sense, and is unfair. People with a full time job on lower wages qualify for social security payments to be able to afford things which is ridiculous. Due to inflation ect and the need for constant "growth" though debt.

By the looks of it the Canadian system is the system I agree with.

I think what I am is a democratic socialist, which is not communist by a long shot. I think all the nations resources belong to all of us and any profits from them should be shared by investing the revenue in infrastructure. And we should print our own money and tell the Central bankers to leave. I firmly believe we will rid ourselves of them sooner or later.

Then we will be able to enjoy the fruits of our labors, which would increase withe less taxes to make us lethargic and apathetic.

The irony of it all is that a good proportion of our doctors are already from oversea's, a lot of the time it is difficult to communicate with the doctors because English is their second language. G.P.'s especially ! Madness, 10 minute visits and 5 minutes of it is asking them to "say again".

Slay the cash Cow

In NYC there are entire 20 story housing projects filled with low income  elderly persons  who's sole purpose seems to be  keeping  local hospitals in business.

one recent audit showed 200 million dollars from the residents of ONE building which was billed thru the hospital to the Taxpayers in one  year.
just for reference an MRI typically costs the US taxpayer 6-10 thousand dollars at one of these hospitals {MRI Bill only not ancillary costs]

I go and have an MRI done at a private facility" Cash 750.00"

this type of abuse is rampent from drug pricing to every imaginable procedure  when it gets to "government Run" and paid for by the taxpayer.

Just one mans observation and opinion.
