Oil is pushing water / mercury    ideal symetry left/right

When the pistons displace the oil, the springs will compress. Once the force is removed from the piston heads (that is, the person stops pushing the pistons) the energy stored in the compressed springs will force the displaced oil back into its original position. Am I understanding this correctly?

What happens now?
