i dont have a battery and travel a lot--dont want to haul it about
ive run hho cells from 12v in the past--all ok
but direct mains? must admit im a bit of a nerd
how to do this without buying and hauling an electrical device (output
regulator/volt-amps controller etc)?
something the size of a cellphone charger
not after big volts but not too tiny an output

appreciate any ideas

What you are asking for is a power supply.  If you design your cell such that it works well at a particular power level:  Total plate area and plate count, and particular voltage: series plate count, then you can buy a small power supply the size of a cell phone charger to run your unit.  You can readily get little wall warts of 25W - 50W capacity and up to 48V output.

yes, a power supplier--is that what i should ask for when i go to the elec shop?

ill tell you what its for: making a portable hho cell (2 plate) with a very thin
nylon membrane dividing hydrogen from oxygen. keep the hydrogen and bubble it
into drinking water. reports of great health benefits

thanks for your help

Since you only have two plates, then you want a pretty low voltage supply, maybe 3V to 5V.  The current capability that you need depends on the size of your plates.  If you make the plates too large the power supply will go into overcurrent protection and you won't get much gas production.  5V 2.5A - 3A wall warts are very common for USB hubs.

i think we got it right there. they sound like the right outputs
plates can be small as 1inch by 2inch
