It was in fact a denial of the facts and science which led to the collapse of every society. Logically, if they believed in the facts and not religion and politics then the society wouldn't have collapsed. You can always tell who is peddling BS... there the one's with no tangible proof to substantiate their claims.

Here is my line of reason...
-Logically if they didn't believe the BS of religion and politics they would have believed in the facts.
-The facts said there actions would eventually destroy them and there society.
-Thus if they believed in the facts they would not have destroyed themselves
-Conclusion... don't be stupid, trust in facts because they are real and not silly unfounded beliefs.

So if I believed one unicorn could save me if I jumped off a cliff then should I believe that many unicorns would somehow make me more safe if I jumped off the same cliff?. Personally, and this is just me, I was under the impression that as a grown up I was supposed to stop believing in fairy tales.

I like to think of it this way... if I was a bank manager and you came into my branch peddling this BS as fact expecting a loan of real value I would tell security to escort you out of my building. This is the best analogy I could use and fairy tales are by no means a tangible good or service. 

I know it seems normal to you but no it's complete BS, sorry about your luck.
