.....regarding the driver-follower relation of a two stage oscillator (lever+pendulum).
Usually we play pendulum ( red mass ) as a driver , as :

...but we can play the blue mass , also as a driver ...so to "excite" the pendulum's  base/fulcrum ,as :

In this manner we can perform a multitude of motions : swinging (down...up ) and full rotation .
