I'm in no mood to discuss trivia at the moment... I just read Mark Dansie's report about MarkE.

I can tell you these things:

The device was originally designed by Overconfident, who died of a brain tumor (malignant melanoma) several years ago.
The video was put up on YouTube to prove a point to Omnibus and was taken down after only being up for 27 minutes, as soon as Omnibus had seen it.
All copies of the video available on YT are unauthorized, plagiarized and many have been altered in various ways. Someone copied it without permission in the 27 minutes it was up and reposted it and it's all downhill from there.

The device is now lost, but you know where it may be (even if you don't realize it).

Teaching? Yes, undoubtedly. Did anyone learn anything from it? I certainly did.

Out of respect for the memory of Overconfident, I really don't want to discuss it further. It was done to death back in the day, anyhow.

Ah, so you jumped to Conclusions simply because a schematic was presented, in a different post that was not the same as the original Post?

For your Reference:

Maybe one entangles the other with a subset of first?

I was never really a fan of the Joule Thief, I gave it a whirl, but the lack of real world practicalities was enough for me.

The JT is simply an old Mechanical Flasher, with a solid-state switch... Some 60+ years old...

P.S:

"a blocking oscillator" and an Electro Mechanical Flasher do have the same basic working principals weather you like to admit it or not. RC Time constant still applies, Coils do have Distributed Capacitance... Two Coils are used to trigger an event... Its RC Time Constant of these Coils that cause the Vibratory Action... Same deal old mate, its just about point of view...

I know you have hard time seeing things from the point of view of others...

Hahaha, very funny, where is the 2x Diodes, Capacitor, second Coil....... When I was at school, I just used to look at the pictures too, then I learnt that there is Text, and it is important, best it be read!!!

That is not the reference in the original posting 5268-->The diagram you posted is the second reference given of an electro mechanical thermo flasher unit-not the first.
The first reference given IS of an RC based flasher unit.

I think it's about time you guys started to get it right,as it is starting to not look good for you.

It is starting to look like the !big guns! dont like it when the small fry are right.
