Really PW ?.

If they are the same,then how is one aligned with the magnetic field,and one is not?-the electron that is.

The images were meant to depict how the up/down alignment of an electron's spin determines the direction of its magnetic moment and, therefore, whether it will repel away from or attract to an externally applied magnetic field of a given polarity.

If you must, imagine them as PM's (one pointing up and one pointing down) and when placed next to a third PM, one will repel and the other attract.
