Free Energy will change the World - Free Energy will stop Climate Change - Free Energy will give us hope
and we will not surrender until free energy will be enabled all over the world, to power planes, cars, ships and trains.
Free energy will help the poor to become independent of needing expensive fuels.
So all in all Free energy will bring far more peace to the world than any other invention has already brought to the world.

Hello everyone,
I am a senior in high school and I am doing my year long engineering project on HHO production and converting a small 4 cycle gasoline engine, most likely a 3.5hp Tecumseh horizontal shaft engine, to run totally off the hydrogen Oxygen mix produced from the electrolysis process. Some background on myself- I am at the top of my class and take advanced placement calculus, physics, and chemistry so despite my age I can promise that I know the chemical and physical properties taking place. I have been a small engine mechanic for 3 years and know the workings of an internal combustion engine like the back of my hand. I have zero experience however building HHO dry cell's or doing HHO conversions so that is where you kind folk come in. This project is for no practical application and is only educational but having said that I am shooting for a very efficient, calculated, clean, professional system. I AM NOT ATEMPTING TO BREAK THE LAWS OF THERODYNAMICS, I know many people focus on that in this forum but that is not what this is about. The more physics and chemistry calculations I can utilize the better. Funding is a non issue and I am far more focused on designing and building a nice dry cell then the time or money. I was hoping you could give me advice on things like size, shape, hole configuration, electrolytes, variable dc power supplies, and also knowledge on what problems I will run into when converting the engine. Like I said, I'm a newbie but I have seen the incredible amount of garbage info out and I am trying to bypass some of that mess by joining this community. Thanks for your time

I'd like to point out a few things about HHO as a fuel. Based on my personal experiences only.

1) The pure HHO gas won't explode and push the engine piston down. It will implode with a net amount of thermal energy, potentially pulling the piston up and heating the surroundings.
2) The HHO gas should be mixed with something that can expand and push the piston down when the HHO is ignited. Air might be good, perhaps mixed with water vapor or even water mist. This way you can utilize the net thermal energy that is released whe the HHO ignites. The exhaust gases can be re-utilized after cooling, so you probably could recirculate them back to the intake via a tube or radiator / condensor.
3) When mixed with normal ICE fuel (gasoline vapor, typically) the HHO gas probably helps the combustion and reduces the harmful combustion residues (CO, HC, NOx). I've seen one Turkish MSc thesis about this.
4) Your engine valves have to be very tight and well ground into their valve seats on the cylinder head. Otherwise you'll ignite the HHO in the intake manifold if the HHO flame can leak between the valve and valve seat back to the manifold. The HHO flame front propagates much faster than with gasoline, and goes through very small openings!
5) Your spark has to occur only after the compression stroke, i.e. every second revolution of the engine and AFTER the TDC point. You can't use the typical waste spark system used on small one-cylinder engines with flywheel magneto ignition. At least you have to set the ignition advance to zero or even a bit retarded after TDC, otherwise your "wasted spark" between the exhaust and inlet strokes will ignite the mixture while the inlet valve is still a bit open. Of course you might be able to override this with a specially ground camshaft, if you can make one.

But I still think it can be done. An engine can be run with HHO or at least with HHO/air mixture. I wish I had more time to build prototype engines!

 Andre3,

Likely due to your young age, you are clearly unaware that what you are trying to do has been done a number of times, by several people (myself included), all over the world – decades ago!

Since you are requesting advice/assistance, may I suggest that you download the Folders from the links below and STUDY all the files carefully!

Needless to say, you should ignore the nay-sayers, hardcore "skeptics" and especially the paid saboteurs which have infested almost all Forums, particularly THIS one! (overunity.com)
