Solenoid engine helped with magnets

By using solenoids you are not getting the back emf caused by a magnet flying past a coil and also Bob Teal used the collapsing field of the coils to light some light bulbs and claimed it was OU.

Had no idea about him. Great yet tragic story as well that it was never pursued further. Sometimes you have to give up that first great idea in order to get the funds to forge ahead with another one. Cuts to the bone how his family threw his prototypes and notes away    Good thing we still have his patents to go by.

Dear CLaNZeR,

I would like to know how the input current draw may have changed  (if it changed at all)  in your setup when you placed the permanent magnet to the back of the solenoid. I hope you checked it back then?   It would be very good to know...
