They look pretty hemispherical - i.e. without flat bases.

electrodes? That is hexavalent chromium."  .........   seems to differ in color with ph.i get purple at 14 and yellow at 13 and under.maybe some manganese in ther too?

Look up electroplating of metal, this is why. Any time you have a liquid touching two metals that has a current running through it, electroplating happens, meaning one metal is dissolving into the liquid. Would not be a good idea drinking that kind of water full of metal ions.
