If things get a little much here then you could always create your own free Google Groups forum. For example I created the following forum just to see what the admin management was like -->

how about a one time membership fee? all $$$ goes to website/projects/you.

i am sure you will always have new members wanting to join. maybe it could be this way.

Well, this year all remains free.

I will try to optimize the features of the forum and
will try to make the ads as much as noninterfering as
possible and only add ads, that are also beneficial
and good offers to the members and ontopic as much
as possible.

Also the main part of the forum will always be free.

In the next year I might add some special members only
sections, which could be donation sponsored
or paid via membership fees...we will see,
but maybe until then we have the solid state free energy
device and all will move into just a
rebuilders and marketing site... we will see...

Sound web sites offer a fee to get rid of the ads. That might help.
