Why would they [the patent office] care if the innovation works or not? As a matter of fact most innovations (that they DO allow a patent for) DO NOT work as described in the patent (I have proved that many times)!!!! 
Inventors often deliberately put 'errors' into their patent applications to prevent duplication [like Kapanadze - A/N].  They know that patents are open public records.  They just make sure the 'key' innovation is covered in the text/pictures, hidden in the otherwise not-completely-truthful information.«

This is the first Kapanadze patent, filed 8 June 2007. We shall ignore Kapanadze's second patent (filed a month later), because in that second patent he deliberately planted even more confusing errors than in the first one. Maybe he wanted to withdraw his first (too proper) patent, but couldn't.

As stabilizing the magnetic field difference by the help of frequency stabilizer, this circuit line also converts the energy which is moving independently in the air [which requires high voltage, so actually those bobbins are two HV transformers - A/N] at the second bobbin designed within this line to electric energy. This electric energy formed by the second bobbin adjusts the necessary frequency (220 V - 50 Hz or 110 V - 60 Hz) for use, by the help of second frequency adjuster designed at the bobbin output. This generated electric energy is transferred to the intended usage area via exit points [there are no exit points, input equals output (exit) as we clearly can see in the drawing, 12/13 is the same as 15 - A/N]. Through the circuit cables connected to the exit points, the device feeds itself with the generated electric energy [another deliberate error, either the input is DC (+ and - signs) or it is AC, can't be both - A/N].«

I have to look into this (your post) a little bit deeper when i can. It seems interesting at first glance. 

I have begun to assume that you can´t trust patents (the last 100 years, or ever futher back) for replicating according to the information that the patent supplies.
I wouldnt be surprised if that is the standard among "sensitive" inventions, and other technology (like ´Royal Rifes inventions for example) that can upset the "natural balance" of things in the world.

Hi guys, i just found an american 120V laboratory hotplate that i bought a few years ago, and i opened it and it had a sort of heavy duty potentiometer/rheostat to adjust the temp, and nothing else.

Could it be used as a sort of variac maybe?

Potentiometers usually are just variable resistors, so No.


What you can do is, take a 120 to 12v transformer, then very carefully scratch off the enamelation at every (for example) third winding, then make an adjustable brush contact to connect to any of these windings. Note as the windings are layered, you have to do this on the top side of the coil, so you get taps on diffrent layers.


Very important is your point contact may never contact more than one tap at once, otherwise the transformer could go kaboom.


You can run this in normal direction to have a range of maybe 4 to 12 Volt (note: bypass the bridge rectifier) or in reverse, using an other transformers 12V ac output as the source.
What is important is the turns ratio, for instance if the mains side of the transformer has 1200 turns and the low Voltage side has 60 turns then the transformation ratio will be 100:5 and output will be 6vdc. Mind you, you cannot have high voltage and high current at the same time in a thin wire, it will melt and short circuit, or worse.
This will happen if you connect the mains to the 12V side, the 120V side will then output 1200 V, but quickly be destroyed if you connect a load that hasn't a very high resistance.


A simple method is a toy railway transformer that has a adjustable ac output. Then feed this into an ordinary 120 to 12 reversely, so you'll get a range of eg. 0 to 120 V, or two in series to get 0 to 1200 v, but this will of course all have a very limited current, so make shure none is getting hot due to too low resistance of the final load.
