Matter can be converted into energy.  Energy can be converted into matter.

As to which came first,  I think its obvious that the universe is essentially an
energetic event out of which the material or physical is manifested. Even though
matter can be converted into energy,  the physical is secondary to and the product
of energy.

The more fundamental an object of our examinations is, the more its nature seems to
be something without mass and the more it seems to exist outside of time. 

We are conscious of existence through physical senses. But all of our senses require
motion and change in order for us to be aware of any some thing through those senses.
Change and motion are the essence of energy.

Time as we know it, is not fundamental to existence nor consciousness.  Time begins
when energy manifests in patterns, as elementary particles and atoms.

Or at least. so it seems to me.

in a sense there is no time.   past present and future are all pre determined.  Now think of the universe creation as an old VHS tape the frame of reference where we reside gives us the illusion of time but in reality the whole tape was spontaneously erupted into existence.   Also the term creation is wrong.   Creation entails beginning middle and an end there is no beginning no middle and no end it just is.  The correct term is transformation not creation for our simulation in this universe

What next ? 

The question of self existence, the question of free will and self determination
and the proposition of the possibility of not confusing the map for the actual
territory it represents ?

The author kurt Vonnegut in his book Slaughter house 5  uses a phrase
" All time is eternally present ".

Eternity being distinguished from infinity.  No beginning and no end,  infinity
a beginning but no end.

It's interesting but from my perspective it comes off as something like reading palms or predicting stocks...

I take these two numbers and do this, I add here, then I multiply instead of adding here, take the half and look it's your mothers lost slipper. Many people get confused by math because they don't understand it thus like palm reading when someone infers a pattern it's easy to be misled.

Don't get me wrong, as an Engineer I'm constantly calculating things and understand the necessity of math and science. However most of the people playing the hard core numbers game never seem to get much accomplished. Been down that road and at the end it was just another rabbit hole in my opinion.
