QuoteYou mean like Musk?
Musk with his trillion wants to sell off some Tesla stock, and end world hunger. He said that is IF he could trust that the money would reach the needed people, not the scammers in between.   Concerning FE, why does MUSK not pursue that subject. Instead of creating higher needs in electricity to power the millions of new electric cars, trucks, and future planes, ships, etc.   The battery technology sucks, no matter how efficient you make them.

Musk is just a businessman who got lucky in a few high tech industries. He doesn't come off as being all that intelligent however he does hire the best and the brightest who can make stuff work. You don't honestly think Musk designed any of the technology do you?, lol. In fact his employees are doing all the real work while he takes the credit for it like most businessmen do.

QuoteMakes me wonder, just where these guys like Musk and others are coming from. So, rich, while there's so many, so poor.

I don't wonder and anyone who feels compelled to get that rich while paying no taxes and sharing there wealth is just another douchebag. Musk has all but proven this through his own actions. The mistake most people make is deifying the wealthy or thinking there more intelligent when there obviously not. What they are is opportunists who manipulate others for profit which is the reason why there wealthy.

I have met countless millionaires and would never trust any of them. They often leave a string of broken marriages, broken promises, throwing there friends under the bus and psychotic behavior. There also easy to spot because they have few if any real friends, show no emotions or empathy and tend to stare through people as if there not even there. Basically look for the psychopath, there the wealthiest person in the room, lol.

Yes, well it's funny how the most important and riches people in the world, get divorced. Is that just bad luck, or maybe their wives know where to hit the ball, where it hurts the most. How much money did those wives make from their divorce? Too much...
As Elvis once said,  money, "you can't take it with you"... So, what's the point.  There is a difference between being smart, and being wise. Which is not taught in school. Nor how to make money, without being a slave to it.  Like Musk, and his 100 hour work weeks.
As far as paying taxes, I feel like the governments are the biggest thieves in the world, and with the highest debt.
Ask John McAffee. In some countries, half of what you make, goes to those thieves. Who gave them the right to steal??? WE did? Did we have a vote on that??? Or do they just do what they want, at our expense? I think that it's time we take their money away, and leave them with their own created debts, instead. As they have shown that they can't handle it, and are not responsible to deal with it, and who needs the governments with all their BS, any way?

It's debatable and we should understand the difference between good and bad governance...

Most local taxes go towards schools, roads and other infrastructure which we use so it's not theft it's just common sense and good business. I think our municipalities here are doing one hell of a job and I know people who work there. The only one's bitching seem to be those who don't want to pay there fair share for the infrastructure they use daily... Cheapskate:a miserly or stingy person especially : one who tries to avoid paying a fair share of costs or expenses.

On the federal level there is much waste like allowing corporations to pay no taxes while also giving them massive subsidies. There is also the issue of private government contractors abusing the system like the $100 pump charged out for $6000 plus labor. However we should understand most people cannot even manage a corner store let alone a whole country. It's an almost impossible task and I sure as hell wouldn't want that kind of responsibility.

No offense but I have found the one's crying the loudest about taxes are generally the ones most likely to be abusing the system. They want everything given to them but don't want to pay for it...

Well, I'm glad that you are happy with the tax system, and that you see just how well it is working, for you.
Abusing the system? Or is it the other way around? However, I don't agree. Nor would I pay half of what I make to those thieves, which aren't accountable to anyone, at all. And they just keep printing more and more money to cover their huge debts.
So, don't count on me, to back guys like Biden, nor anyone else. As I see massive corruption everywhere, and it has gone way too far.
There are 82 municipalities, where I live. Of them, 19 have had mayor problems, and have their employees and mayors have been taken to courts for abnormalities. Maybe it's different where you live, I hope so.
I am being charged thousands of dollars each year for my 1/8 acre lot, just for the lot. And they can raise the sum any time they like. But, I'm not crying, just because there are no paved roads in front of my place, no drainage gutters or ditches, no side walks, and even the street light in front of my place does not work and hasn't in more than two years.
The municipality here in my county made 172.000 dollars of tax payers monies dedicated for the pavement of the roads, in my small town and also in front of my place vanish, never to be found for that purpose again.
Even though I have been here for 40 years, I don't have a tittle, nor a concession on my property. And there's more, but I would not want to bore anyone with the details. As many hundreds if not thousands, have already had their homes torn down, by the municipalities in this country. So, excuse me for not liking the situation, but there are no tears in my eyes, just remorse.
   Picture below, is my town.
