If you use Firefox the text is black color on grey background.
Only the ads have transparent background.

I have seen, that with IE there are some quirks,
so better use the current Firefox 3.0.10

I have not much time right now to change anything
without testing it further, so when I will
work on the next update I will maybe also
innclude other themes without the transparency
so you can switch the themes yourself.

But in this moment I will leave it this way cause I
have other work to do.

I have many years web development experience, so.. At the risk of being ripped to shreds by your members, I would like to volunteer to give the site a facelift free of charge as I have had many hours of enjoyment (and a little frustration) from using your wonderful site.
