Free Energy will change the World - Free Energy will stop Climate Change - Free Energy will give us hope
and we will not surrender until free energy will be enabled all over the world, to power planes, cars, ships and trains.
Free energy will help the poor to become independent of needing expensive fuels.
So all in all Free energy will bring far more peace to the world than any other invention has already brought to the world.

Thanks, all fer the MIG TIG tips.   I've been outa the collision repair business fer pert near two decades now, so now most my weldin' is dumb big mild steel, trailer frames and farm stuff, no more HSLA, alloys, etc.

I've had reasonably good luck with the chinese tool store (Harbour Freight).   I might dare to try their TIG.

I ain't big on convertin' tools if'n I can avoid (=afford) it.  With whatever I've spent so far, that TIG will reach <grimace>

@ZFF; check out that chinese watt meter on the cold fusion thread.  Yes, Harbor freight, $30 US.   Works like a champ, but I ain't gonna push the limit with it.

Gots the acrylic slabs & parters cut fer them thar bubblers; as far as the circulation goes, think "undergravel filter" in yer fishbowl.   It's the head levels and backpressure balancing that'll give the turtle fits.   We shall see.

More later.

Tonight I tried my new gas metering device. It worked flawlessly! The modified cell not so flawlessly. Sid was right. MUCH more leak-by current across the bottom when I was forced to cut out the perforated bottom plate. I also had gas coming off both sides of the positive electrodes because there was nothing to insulate the back sides and lots in the middle around the negative. Despite all this, overall efficiency still improved slightly, offset by the gain of closer plate spacing. It also ran noticeably cooler. What I learned:

A) The perforated floor of my plate cavity design did in fact provide some leakage isolation. I highly recommend it.
B) It's important to insulate the back side of the positive plates. Even though both positive plates are at the same potential relative to each other, there is still lots of leakage through the solution to the negative bypassing the neutral plates.

It's full steam ahead now on the next generation cell. It will have neutral plates 1/2" higher than the side walls, edges sealed with adhesive into the side wall grooves and electrolyte level about 1/4" above the side walls. Can't wait to show it off!

Now if I can only find a builder with scrap 4" PVC drain pipe laying around......

P.S. Forum email notifications for me lately have been unreliable at best. Anyone else notice a problem?

Posting in this thread because of the high interest it continues to generate. Found Potassium Hydroxide KOH locally today! Home Depot in the plumbing section for drain openers. It is in liquid form but I'll take what I can get. It's Pequa brand Heavy Duty Drain Opener. 32oz white plastic bottle with red lettering about $6. Hope it works. Cheers!
