Here's that bubbler I been hackin' away at- ain't tested it jes yet, but the idea is to use the HHO and recirc exhaust gas as an airlift (ala aquarium undergravel filter) to circulate the electrolyte thru the system, maintaining temp and concentration in same.

Gasses in bottom left, out top, liquid in with HHO, out top right.

@ D3;
  "Here is where everything I know about electricity gets turned on its head. And I have not seen any other test cell do this, from arrons to all the other tinkers out there, not one cell I have seen has the characteristics of the parallel cell I slapped together, even though I did nothing I haven't seen 100 other people do.
    With the cell connected I increase voltage from 0v up to about where 12v should be, I expected this cell to draw much more current than the series given that there is a lot more + and - surface area in close proximity. BUT as the voltage increased from 0v it stopped at 2.42v no matter how high I turned the knob up. In other words with the cell disconnected the supply would read 14v, but with the cell connected it would only read 2.42v. And to make it more upside down, the amperage only increased as the voltage was turned up to 2.42v after that the amperage stopped increasing also, it sat staginant at 7.92a. "

Yup, I had the same thing with the Variac thru a bridge, but on a smaller 8 plate parallel cell.   Cain't explain it, but, yes, jes like ZFF, hook the bank of gel cells and wet cells to it (adds to 96 volts <grin>) and watch out, Nellie!

So I be guessin' the Variac ain't got what it takes fer the job.

Well after testing the heck out of the parallel cell it seems so that that the 17 plate cell that I tested first is the most efficient as far as ml per consumed watt, at 4.38 (ml/min)/watt. Strange thing that it shunted at the most efficient point.

Great looking Bubbler Turtle, hope everything works like you want. I?m in the process of enclosing my cell and I was wondering about the electrolyte mainly KOH reacting to types of metals. Do all the heat exchangers have to be stainless or can copper withstand KOH? I wanted to run a stainless coil in my water reservoir and use a heat exchanger for the water reservoir to pull the heat off the cell. If anyone has a better idea how to plumb this type of cell to keep it cool please let me know.

KOH is easier on copper than NaOH would be, but I'd use at least 304 grade stainless for the heat transfer component of yer circulator, and teflon or vinyl tubing fer the rest.

I put a few peices of all typs of plastic I be a-usin' into soak with some 1 normal KOH in D I water; at that lame mix, little or no effect is seen.   Gonna compare it to control blanks under the 'scope, but that pretty much jives with my spacing premise;

Simply stated, keep the plates close enough together so's y'all don't need too much KOH, but far enough parted so's the gas can get gone without slowin' the deal down.

I'm a-thinkin' 1/16" is pert near wide right now... ZFF gots lots of numbers on this, though.
