I had little luck as it produced lots of scum. But maybe it was something else. I don't think it was because I took out the cell and put into Tupperware and no scum. Tupperware is good for testing but not for a system in a car or? The Tupperware can not handle high heat conditions for long periods of time.

Thanks, I'll try different alternatives for the cell housing. Right now I'm still in the research phase, so it may be a while before I start actually building any kind of electrolysis cell. Plus i have other ideas in my head that I want to try. One idea is based on something that a character built in a fanfiction. It is a circuit that recharges the battery using a small amount of power that is recycled from the output of the circuit. The fanfiction is called Jedi Harris on Twisting the Hellmouth. He builds the circuit for the power supply of his light saber. If someone, me included, could make a circuit like that, there would be unlimited uses for it.
