Thermodynamic law decrees that FRICTION is LOSSES. Not so ... FRICTIONAL LOSSES are both DRIVE and OUTPUT DEMAND. They are ABSOLUTELY EVERYTHING.

Can anyone describe the routine to get this up on Wikipedia ?

To put something on wikipedia you simply need to cite a reliable source for the things the article talks about and use a neutral point of view.

I don't quite understand the picture in your post.  What happens when all the water has drained out?  Is the output on an angle so that it makes the thing rotate?
