What is the proper procedure for timing and mixture to setup a Carbed engine? If your are running a booster do  you still want to be as close to TDC as possible? Should you also lean out the mixture? Any tips would be great. Should you tune by ear or light......

I currently have my system setup for manifold and air filter intake under vaccum.

GJ - Really glad to see your enthusiasm! Many of your questions are answered in the threads already started here. Questions should be posted under those related topics rather than starting a new thread for every question.

TDC is needed only for pure HHO. A mix with gasoline is soing to be somewhere in between determined experimentally. Carbed engines are trickier than FI. FI is a closed loop that can be fooled using EFIE on the O2 sensor to alter mixture relative to HHO percentage. Carbs not so. My personal feeling is to send HHO just above the carb venturis and switch it on with throttle linkage just off idle, or vary it using a throttle pot and PWM circuit.

Today I'm actually creating a venturi to insert into the intake ductwork just in front of the plenum butterfly on my FI honda. This will create a vacuum signal proportional to air flow. I plan to make this the only HHO injection point.

yikes

George, tune it by ear when playing with it.  Then use a light to know where you are when you get close to what you want.
