looks like it might work in a closed loop.

It seems so simple would have thought it would have been tried.

The stack of magnets should be made twice as long to avoid end effects stretching to the car magnet,
Then he should try to release the car in the middle of the magnets.
If it accelerates from there it could work in a closed loop.

By the way. Can any of you see the polarity of the magnets in his drawing?
I cannot determine this. It just looks like lots of the capital D.

Am I right in thinking because it is a configuration that repeats there is a multitude of sticking points that the runner continues throw so it would work in a loop.

But it would be nice to see a longer track.
