pulating DC reactance

Has anyone tried to tune their lifter, I put a z-meter on mine and didn't get a reading.
It is an air cap and I assume it's out of range of typical z-meters. I suspect I'm not
getting max power. It's taking 56 watts to lift it. Anyone else got any thoughts on
this? Could be we are waisting alot of power.
