This keeps the moving magnet's field from wanting to loop back to it's own opposite pole.
Coil and coil core are shown in cut away view.

Flux through every coil is constant -- that doesn't seem to be a generator at all.

The flux changes as the magnet moves through the center of the core. When the magnets meet face to face the flux drops to zero.
Test it, it works.
