simularities in different phenomena:cavitation

the pistol shrimp,nascar(auto racing)drafting,sonic boom,thunder...to me this is all the same phenomena...basically,something happening faster than the environment can instantaneously react.to me all of these phenomena are creating either a momentary full vacuum or a partial one.the lightening is there then gone and the air around the vein collapses back into it,causing thunder,the jet creates a high pressure area around it then"displaces" itself leaving the area of low pressure or vacuum where it was,in nascar the car in front displaces the air around it creating a pocket of low pressure into which the trailing car can move and push it  thereby making the total speed of the two cars in tandom faster than either can travel on it's own.the shrimp water jet causing a vector type cavity which then collapses and expels a high energy.it's all very much the same to me.
