Apparently there were also witnesses to some of the Meier sightings...its hard for me to discount live accounts...that is what gave Meier credibility in my eyes.

I wish that were true but z-monkey already has that covered. If you arn't open to the experience then you'll be out of luck they won't be waisting thier time on nonbelievers.   The odds of us being the only critters to figure out how to start a fire are astronomical.  The odds that the only form of intelligence that exists is locked into dna coding and passed on from one dna laden bag of water to the next is even a bigger #.  I seriously doubt any politically controlled nation on Earth given the ability to travel to another galaxy to uplift the life standard of a planet there would bother.  They would be too busy exploiting planets round here so they could make bigger guns to get more power gold and ass. 

Good point sparks, I have contemplated the thought that humans were just genetically engineered from pigs (eat anything), monkeys (dextrous and earthlike form) and a bit of alien (good brain) to do a job for the aliens. That job is to mine all the ores out of the planet and also terraform the planet by burning all the trapped hydrocarbons so the atmosphere becomes more CO2 rich again (like before the big meteor buried all the trees) and thus can sustain the aliens comfortably. If they have time travel tech then they might of only kicked us going last week in their time!

Let's be clear here: This doesn't constitute a proof. As much as, for example, James Randi or MythBusters may have debunked false claims, they often use incorrect logic. Just because you can find a certain way to do things doesn't automatically invalidate another. Especially if you don't understand how that other way is supposed to work. Even if you are in the beginning sincere in uncovering frauds, after a while you may have either so much investment you want to recover or reputation to lose that your objectivity may get tainted, especially if it's coupled with the media. If they are in this business, they should present proof when accusing others. [At least that was considered to be the correct way in the past.]

People who have never lived in another culture often cannot see how they can be strongly manipulated by withholding evidence, not to mention that they cannot understand that people from other cultures may have different values (and might look naïve or otherwise stupid or ruthless or whatever) from their vantage point. You can substitute culture with social class, language, profession, etc.
