I bought 3mm 10mm long SS304 bolt yesterday, it is the smallest I can find. It seems adequate to my need.

On 9 volts experiment, a pair of bolt would produce continuously released gas more than what my 0.5 square inch plate do. Although the gas mostly released from negative part. Submerging only part of the bolt will make the many small bubble covering all the wet surface immmediately. I think this is what I looking for.

As the voltage use, after reading "High voltage HHO by IronHead" I plan to use brute force 12V DC. I'll see if  this can make the cell too hot or not. If it is I plan to divide it to 2 or 3. I will also divide it when the surface fully covered with bubble.

A pair of bolt draw 20mA at 9 volts, 0.18 Watt. I 'll see if temperature problem will arise.

The configuration I want to use is attached. The insulation area maybe increase or decreased. If temperature become problem I thin I will try to increase the insulation leaving only very small surface of bolt and use lower voltage.

I plan to use hot glue for insulation.

I hope admin don't mind multiple posting of mine, I can't edit my previous post.

The actual configuration I use turn out to be different from my original plan.

See attachment.

The configuration is paralel, one side positive, other side negative. I know the output is nothing compare what anyone has but I rather satisfy with it's HHO production. Using 9 volts battery x 90mA = 0.81 Watt,  with tap water. Maybe I can get more gas production with well water. Should have a lot more with NaOH, although I think the current may exceed 1 ampere if I do that.

I see too many sticky bubble in the SS. Base from ironhead suggestion the SS was toasted 15 minutes, already become non magnetic. For those sticky bubble problem I think I will reduce surface size by hot gluing the bolt base. But, I'll see how it goes with well water first.

Fater the electrode dry I see some white coating on some of the middle negative. Maybe I should improve the configuration to make it white evenly.

The experiment with well water do have more gas, NaOH increased it more, but unfortunately both also have more sticky bubble. I decide to reduce the surface more.

I add hot glue to the base part. A bit difficult because it's samll size. I end up covering needed surface too so I have to clean it with knife.

Less surface release much more bubble now, compare it to my previous picture. The current also reduced too.

25.8mA * 9 volts = 0.232 Watt.

The sticky bubble still exist at the positive electrode. But I satisfy that the negative part release more bubble now.

With yesterday test I finally have goal of what to do for building my low amp 12volts cell. I have to build many pair of small elektrode. There are many ways to do this, I think I will do it with:

- nut&bolts pair. maybe 40 pair of them would draw 1 ampere.
- plate with grid like insulation (with insulation tape covering most of surface, look attachment).

All will be paralel.
