I'm trying to update and expand my thread with some new research and can not add a reply .

Are you trying to add to the thread, or add something to a previous post in that thread?  If you're trying to edit one of your previous posts, you can't.  Harti disabled this feature to prevent people from going back and removing information they'd previously provided.  There was a lot of that going on a while ago.  Other than that I don't know, maybe someone else can help you.  Good luck.
