Why are magnets influenced by DC power and not AC?

radiation is emmitted along the axis of magnetization, N to S, or S to N, depending on the direction of current at that particular moment.

the result is high-energy, short-wavelength radiation in a sphere at both ends of the magnet, radiating outwards inversly proportional to the magnetic field strength ( and subsequently the field strength at the miminum amplitude of the A/C signal needed to overcome the field)

if you use a ring magnet you can Direct the radiation down the center of the ring.

Magnetc fields propegate Instantly. you cannot have too high a frequency for the field to respond. The 'delay'  observed above a certain frequency, pertains to the physical mass of the magnetic material, not the field it is producing. If you overcome that 'delay' speed, the field will simply switch back and forth releasing the energy, it would have normally applied to the motion of the magnetic material.
With a D/C current, the motion is in one direction, causing a linear motion rather than a vibrational one. if you were to pulse the D/C current fast enough, (in opposition to polarity) you can produce the same effect, but in one direction i.e.:Microwave-Gun
