That fluke probably ran some money.  Good work.  Can you try putting a microwave oven transformer's primary side in series with the anode?  Here is what I'm talking about.

I couldn't find a MoT (microwave transformer) so instead I improvised and used an oil burner transformer.  The problem is this transformer does not like a lot of current.  All you need to do is only connect the primary of the MoT in series with the anode.  Don't use the secondary just yet, I am still trying to figure out how to best use it. 

How much do you like that Fluke oscilloscope?  Would you recommend one?
