It's my understanding that the reason these sort of things don't work without manual intervention is because of the 'sticky spot" where the system just stops. What if there is another set of magnets setup on the opposite side that is positioned to push the wheel PAST the sticky spot. It would probably need to be off-center between making it spin and the 'sticky spot'. Every time I think about this type of system, I always have this voice in my head (not literally  ;) ) saying "out of balance"....or "off center".

Notice how very, very short the video is right after he gets the wheel spinning. I don't think he ran out of memory/video space. My guess is that the wheel stopped immediately after the video cut out.  After he wasted all that time building the unit, he sure had a short demo.

By trial and error you will probably be able to get your device to spin a couple of times quickly, but it won't go for long. This is the nature of all these devices.
Research is the only place in a company where you can continually have failures and still keep your job.

The video is a most likely fake.  The thing runs to fast for the magnet arrangement. Battery driven motor it appears to be.

Look closely when the disc is starting to spinn in the video.
He moves in the magnet gently and suddenly it starts by heavy speed.
Not slow and gentle. There is for sure an electromagnetic
pulsed system hidden beneath the table that is switch activated.
